| Introduction
Atmosphere, character, relationship, and education are important words at Lancaster Christian Academy. LCA is an incredible new school located one block off of Murfreesboro Road in the heart of Smyma. The Lancaster Christian Academy was founded with the objective of providing an excellent education in a Christian environment. The school community where a child spends the greatest portion of their day is very important. The result of a good contemporary Christian school is a place where the student can thrive and succeed in a loving, safe, and fun atmosphere. LCA's environment fosters individuality, creativity, and self-esteem.
At Lancaster Christian Academy, the students are nurtured in an intimate setting while receiving an excellent education with Christian values. Educationally, the school test two years above the national average. The ages accepted are grades PRE-K through High School. While education, test scores, and striving for academic excellence are certainly important priorities, the student's relationship in loving, knowing and following the Lord Jesus Christ is number one. Next, because a child spends a good part of their life in school, the LCA atmosphere can be a place where Christian Values and Character are taught daily. Lastly, because we represent the Lord Jesus Christ, the educational part of LCA is excellent.
Highly motivated Christian teachers, a nationally recognized accredited curriculum, and individual student attention are a daily part of LCA with a goal of our students being equipped to make an impact on future generations. It is the purpose of Lancaster Christian Academy to have students grow up with a quality Biblical Education in a Christian Atmosphere that equips them to make successful life choices in their careers, communities, homes, and churches.
History
Lancaster Christian Academy was founded eight years ago to provide parents and students in Smyrna with an opportunity to receive a first-rate, Christian education. LCA---the vision of Keith and Sherry Lancaster---initially opened in a small house on Maple Street with just over 40 students in grades K-5. Strong Biblical leadership, a commitment to academic excellence, and opportunities for cultural growth marked the first five years of the academy.
By 2002, the Academy had outgrown the Maple Street home and plans for a new school building were unveiled. The school, located at 150 Soccer Way, was opened with great acclaim in the fall of 2003. The school had grown from an elementary school to an institution serving students up through grade 9.
In 2004-2005, the next step in the vision for growth at LCA was undertaken---the foundation of an early learning center for children ages 2-4. The 1.1 million dollar state-of-the-art child care center opened in the summer of 2005 and quickly has become one of most successful child care services in Rutherford County. At the end of the 2005-2006 school year, LCA's enrollment had grown to nearly 400 students!
The future is bright at Lancaster Christian Academy! Plans for a 1.3 million dollar gymnasium and high school are currently in the works with plans to open by the 2007-2008 school year. Our high school has grown into a full-service academic institute with our first class of seniors graduated in 2007.
Christian Values
Lancaster Christian Academy believes that Jesus Christ was God, is God, and God's only Son.
LCA believes Jesus was born of a virgin, lived, was crucified, died, buried, rose again, ascended into Heaven, and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty and that salvation and eternal life comes only through Him.
Our traditional doctrine includes many denominational lines. Our criteria in hiring teachers is a personal relationship with and belief in Jesus Christ as God's only Son. Currently, teachers' spiritual backgrounds include: Nazarene, Baptist, Pentecostal, Methodist, and Evangelical. While we provide children with Biblical knowledge, our number one desire is to: PROVIDE A CHRIST-LIKE ENVIRONMENT AND PROMOTE CHRIST-LIKE CHARACTER.
