KNIGHTS DROP HEARTBREAKER IN MCA TOURNEY FINAL

Madison, TN- Despite a season-high 33 points from Gabe Brewer, LCA dropped the championship game of the Metro Christian holiday tournament to Memphis Home Education, 77-75. The Knights knocked off Tri-Cities Christian and host Metro Christian in route to the title game. MHE won the 5a national homeschool championship in 2007 and came into the MCA tournament ranked #7 in the nation. Led by Brewer's scoring outburst and a career-high 21 points from C.D. Perry, LCA held a two point lead in the last minute of the game before falling just short in the waning seconds. "We knocked off the TAACS State Champion 2A- Metro Christian by 20 points then took a top 20 homeschool program to the end of the game," said head coach Todd O'Neal. "I am very proud of our guys." The Knights dropped to 5-1 on the season and will visit Holloway this Tuesday in MTAC action.

LATE SEASON VICTORY PROPELS KNIGHTS INTO TOURNAMENT

February 19- A thrilling, late-season victory over first place Christian Community has LCA hoping for big things in this year's conference tournament. The third-seeded Knights upset the top-ranked Colts 59-53 on February 8, making Lancaster a serious title contender. LCA enters this week's tournament with a record of 15-7, with a record of 10-2 in the league.

The resurgence of sophomore guard Gabe Brewer has powered the Knights to success in the second half of the season, winning 8 of their last 10 games. Brewer, the leading scorer in Rutherford County in 2006-2007, has rebounded from a knee injury to pace the Knights' in scoring. Junior Caleb Ingram continues to lead the area in rebounding and has upped his scoring average to double digits per game. Nick Johnson, a senior, scored 27 points in the final regular season game of the year and may prove to be the third scorer LCA needs to make a run in the tournament.

LCA opens tournament action this Thursday at Currey Ingram with a battle against Franklin Christian. FCA took the Knights to the wire in December, with LCA pulling out a six point win in overtime. A victory will pit LCA against Aaron Academy. Come out and support your Knights as they shoot for a conference championship!

Gabe Brewer leads LCA in scoring for the second year in a row.
