Knights Fail to Overcome Currey Ingram in MTAC Tourney

May 5 - On Tuesday, the LCA Knights soccer season came to a close. Due to unforeseen reasons, the Lancaster Knights fielded only eleven players on Tuesday, with several key players out. After the game, first year coach James Derrick said, "It's too bad. We really deserved to win. Rarely do I chalk up wins to luck, but I sincerely, wholeheartedly believe that luck determined the outcome of our game. We played our hearts out for 80 whole minutes with only eleven players. Our guys and girls deserve to walk out of that stadium with their heads held high." Even though this had been LCA's best soccer season ever, the lack of substitutions wore out the Lancaster players and gave Currey Ingram a great advantage. The game started out all Currey Ingram, taking an early 2-0 lead. Lancaster came back though and had it all tied up 2-2 by the half. After the half, LCA, still playing their same starters, wouldn't compete with the fresh legs of Currey Ingram. After a goal early in the second half, and a successful penalty kick, Currey Ingram sealed the 4-2 victory. The players and coaches are now already looking towards next season, trying to figure out a way to build off of this breakout season for Lancaster soccer.

Knights Continue Winning Streak

April 27 - On Monday, the Lancaster Knights soccer team defeated White House 4-0. Although the game started rough, near the end of the first half things started to click for the Knights. "I am nearly satisfied.", said head coach James Derrick. "We almost put together a complete game, which will require a total victory in the end." This is the second shutout of the season for the Knights, and it improves their season record to 4-5.

Knights use momentum from White House Win to Beat FCS

April 24 - On Friday, the Lancaster Knights continued to show signs of life as they beat FCS in their second win in a row. Earlier in the week, the Knights had defeated White House 3-1, and then went on to defeat FCS 4-1. When asked about this new momentum that the team has gained off these wins, coach James Derrick said, "It feels great, but we can't get complacent. There is still a lot of season left, it doesn't stop here." These mid-season wins help with motivating the Knights as they prepare for the MTAC Tournament. The Knights season record now stands at 3-5.

Cold Weather and Riverside Offense too much for Knights

April 7 - The Knights came out to the field Tuesday night with a simple game plan: Out play and out score the Riverside Knights. The game started with a Riverside goal, immediately followed 90 seconds later with a goal by LCA. This though would be Lancaster's final goal for the game while Riverside tagged on another three shots getting by LCA's two goalies. This 4-1 loss brings LCA's season record to 1-3.

Knights Lose Muddy Game to CCHS

April 3 - Due to a extremely rainy day the day before, the match between the CCHS Colts and the LCA Knights was moved to LCA due to field conditions at CCHS. This home-field advantage did not help the Lancaster Knights though. The muddy field and large rain puddles played a large part in Friday's game, changing both teams gameplans for the match. Christian Community scored four goals on the Knights while LCA only managed one. This loss in the mud brings the Knights record to 1-2.
